Don James

Market Executive, North Central Florida Region

Don began his career in banking in 1982 after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University, and graduated from the Florida School of Banking with Academic Honors in 1991. He joined the Capital City Bank team in 2005, bringing decades of banking experience to the role of community president. Don believes that community development and economic growth are vital to the success of the business community and faithfully volunteers his time with a number of civic and service organizations. He is past president of the Alachua Chamber of Commerce and an active member of the Alachua Lions Club, where he received recognition as “Lion of the Year” for his tireless efforts. Don has served on the Newberry/Jonesville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Irby Elementary PTA, Gainesville Seminole Boosters and Santa Fe Booster Club. He is also an active member and past lay leader of the Alachua First United Methodist Church.
